Getting Ready for a FounderHub AMA/Demo Day

Thanks again for being a part of our FounderHub Community. Here are a few tips for you to get ready for our call.

Session Workflow

AMAs

AMAs (Ask me Anythings) are 30-45 minute Q&A sessions with the FounderHub Community. While most questions and most of the discussion happens directly on our Slack Channel, some questions can also come from Youtube, since most sessions are broadcast to our Youtube Channel.

In our experience, most questions are along the lines of,

  • How did you get in to the job/task you currently fulfill?

  • Tips or specific questions about the startup journey.

The session workflow looks something like this:

  1. Setup and Audio Test (15-30 minutes before going LIVE).

  2. Introduction by Caya (1 minute)

  3. First questions by Caya (5 minutes, while we wait for audience questions).

  4. Audience Q&A (30 minutes).

  5. Wrap up and closing comments (2 minutes).

Demo Days

Our Demo Days are pitch events for founders to practice pitching their business to a large audience. Caya often provides feedback on the slides and the content of the pitch, and the community jumps in for questions around the business.

The session workflow looks something like this:

  1. Setup and Audio Test (15-30 minutes before going LIVE).

  2. Introduction by Caya (1 minute)

  3. Pitch (3 minute hard limit)

  4. Feedback by Caya (5 minutes, while we wait for audience questions).

  5. Q&A with audience (10-15 minutes).

Setup & Requirements

Maximizing exposure:

  • Send our marketing team (marketing at slidebean.com) a high resolution headshot.

    • If you didn’t include you bio or company information when you booked this call, this is the time to send that as well.

As soon as you book a session:

  • Make sure you are part of the FounderHub Slack Community. Most questions will be directed through there.

  • Make sure you have a Google Account (Gmail or G Suite).

  • Install Google Chrome, or the Hangouts plug-in installed on your browser.

  • Using your phone is not recommended, but you can still download the Hangouts iOS App. This also works as a fail safe in case we have trouble with your computer.

  • For DEMO DAYS only: Send Caya (caya at founderhub.io) your slides, in case screen sharing doesn’t work for you the day of the pitch.

30 minutes before the session:

  • Find a room with strong WIFI.

  • Look for a quiet space, with little echo.

  • Caya will send over a Hangouts on Air link around 30 minutes before kick-off. Please stay on top of your email to make sure you receive it.

After the session:

  • Engage with the users who commented on the video on our Youtube Channel.

  • Share the video on your social networks, especially Twitter and LinkedIn.
